AMERICAN LEGION EDUCATION & EMPLOYMENT NATIONAL COMMITTEE MEETING
On August 23rd - August 24th 2019 Don Fried attended the American Legion Education & Employment National Committee Meeting. There were members from the DC office and 48 employment member from across the US that attended the meeting.
WHITE OAK VET CENTER FAMILY PICNIC
On August 16th 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the White Oak Vet Center- Family Picnic. Vet Center Staff, Veterans, Families - share a meal and resources, build cohesion.
CAPITAL AREA MILITARY COMMUNITY RESOURCE NETWORK
On August 14th 2019 Danette Hayes attended the Capital Area Military Community Resource Network in Springfield, IL.

DISTRICT SPOUSES ORIENTATION CONFERENCE

On July 29th - 31st 2019 Milinda Rau attended the District Spouses Orientation Conference, 8th MCRD in Fort Worth, TX. There were 40 Marine Corps spouses, 8 Marines from recruiting stations in the southwest region of the U.S. A variety of resources and providers from the installation were in attendance. The organizer provided an agenda of workshops and informational sessions. They included an evening for Key Notes to address and employment workshops was provided by MSCCN Outreach specialist. I was able to introduce spouses to employment resources that could be plugged into from each remote location they may be stationed at. This allows for situations where installation resources are not available. The workshop provides guidance on how to build your won tools and prepare yourself for meeting your own professional and personal goals.
LANG FP STATE WORKSHOP
On July 25th - 28th 2019 Danielle Trosclair attended the LANG FP State Workshop at the Baton Rogue Capital Center. The workshop was an annual family program state workshop briefing on NGEN and PII/ComSec.
SPOUSE AMBASSADOR NETWORK MEETING
On July 24th 2019 Milinda Rau attended the Spouse Ambassador Network Meeting. We discussed Military spouse employment/partners in supporting military spouse resources and programs.

On June 28th 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Carnegie Learning Zoom Conference, VLP Lunch and Learn Women's Small Business Assoc. Meeting.

ANCHORS AWEIGH PROGRAM

On June 19th - 20th 2019 Stacey J. Harris attended the Anchors Aweigh Program . Military spouses from NAS Corpus Christi and NAS Kingsville, TX attended the meeting. This was a great opportunity to provide great resources to local spouse.

CAREER FAIR

On June 5th 2019 Megan Noe attended the Career Fair at William the Penn Omni Hotel. This Career Fair was to assist Veterans and Spouses looking for employment.

THINK BIG WORKSHOP

On May 17th 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Think Big Workshop. Pittsburgh's Professional Women (PPW) hosting community workshop, featuring Akemi Harrison from WPXI News. This was an opportunity to meet and network with female influencers around the area. CEO of PPW extended discount to me to attend as a courtesy for her invite to the Big Table last month.

WORKSHOP / NETWORKING: INNOVATIVE, SUCCEED AND PROSPER IN A CROWDED MARKETPLACE

On May 13th 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Workshop/Networking: Innovative, Succeed and Prosper in a Crowded Marketplace. This was networking opportunity with local businesses who are looking to grow and recruit talent to make their teams the most cutting edge teaching/workshop and networking opportunity.

MILITARY ZOO DAY

On May 4th 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Military Zoo Day. The Pittsburgh Zoo had a Military day with specialized activities and access for Veteran, Reserve, Guard families the entire afternoon. I was able to secure a free vendor spot for CASY and had folks sign up to win raffle and were entered for career services.
YELLOW RIBBON EVENT

On May 4th 2019 Linda Lucas attended the Yellow Ribbon Event. This event was to reach out to service members, families and veterans to help with job searching assistance.

YELLOW RIBBON EVENT

On April 28th 2019 Danette Hayes attended the Yellow Ribbon Event. This event was attended by 987 service members, spouses and families. There were 58 children. It's the largest troop deployment for the ILNG in 3 years. The 178 is 5 units, 90% of them will deploy. Over 400 will deploy in July 2019. We did have a lot of soldiers stop by our table to talk about opportunities when they get back and how to work on their resumes etc while they're deployed. We encouraged them to sign up on CASY and start working with an ES before they return so they can be ahead of the game when they get back.

FORT HOOD COLLEGE EDUCATION FAIR

On April 9th - 10th 2019 Renetta Stratton attended the Fort Hood College Education Fair. Transitioning soldiers, veterans and spouses attended the fair. I made contact with 1061, which was a successful event due to the number of different colleges and credentialing programs in attendance.

POST GAZETTE HIRING PITTSBURGH EVENT

On April 8th 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Post Gazette Hiring Pittsburgh Event. This job fair had over 100 attendees. I was able to reach out to new employer contacts as possible, solidify relationships with current employer contacts and/or new reps at same company, as well as converse with any potential of new candidates.

On April 4th 2019 Renetta Stratton attended the New Beginning Career Fair. There were 400 Job seekers/ 47 signed up for CASY/MSCCN. There were multiple organizations in attendance.

On April 3rd 2019 Crystal McFadden attended a storytelling event in Beaver, PA for with veterans, organizations and community members, approx. 100 veterans, vet organizations, companies and community members.

On March 16th 2019 Linda Lucas attended the Yellow Ribbon Family Event. This event was for family members and service member returning from deployment.

ROBERT MORRIS UNIV: WORKSHOP

On February 19th 2019 Crystal McFadden attended the Robert Morris University, Jefferson Hall, Skills Translation/Resume Workshop. This event was attended by RMU Veteran Students and Families, PA Serves, 7 SVA. This workshop was successful because CASY was able to build rapport with students who would not normally register for services. Student Veterans were served, presence and validity of CASY was increased and more referral organizations were brought into sphere of communication.

BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS MEETING, GIBSONIA, PA

On February 5th 2019 Crystal McFadden participated in the business professionals meeting in Gibsonia, PA. This meeting served to strengthen our relationship with business leaders to meet our goal of getting veterans and military spouses hired.

Network Social & Relaunch - Camp Lejeune New River MSPN I & E Conference Center Camp Lejeune, NC

On February 1st 2019 Jenna Weakly attended a network social where several resources were given to military spouses of other areas to look for employment in Jacksonville, NC. They discussed finding out how to get spouses out to attend events and assist more spouses with employment services.

Stacey Harris, our Outreach Program Manager, attended a Military Spouse Professional Networking event at Green Light Coffee Shop, a Military Spouse Owned Business. This event had local Military Spouses, Representatives from Driscoll Children's Hospital, Unique HR, FFSC, Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, Del Mar College, and First Command Financial Services. This event offered spouses a chance to network professionally, and encourage one another in their job searches.
Quarterly Gathering of Veterans

On January 12, 2019 Wendy Layton attended the Quarterly Gathering of Veterans at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. This event was attended by over 350 people including hundreds of local veterans’ support organizations. It was the largest event to date, and it was amazing to see how many well-organized supporters are in this community. We have over 460 veteran support agencies in the area. Many of them were represented at this event including Wounded Warrior Project, O2O, Project Hero Hub, Semper Fidelis Society, Northeast Florida Women Veterans, Chaplains on Demand, Women in Defense, Aaron Bowman - City Council, Mayor Lenny Curry, Five Star Veterans Center, Florida Fallen Heroes, Gratitude America, Vets on Tap, HOH Military Spouse Professional Network, Marine Corps League - these are just a few of the offerings. It was absolutely amazing. She made contact with several people looking for employment and offered our services to them.

Multi Service Working Group Luncheon

On January 11, 2019 Wendy Layton attended the Multi Service Working Group Luncheon as did Penny Justice (ESGR), Steve Toomey (ESGR), Patty Piazza (O2O), Mark Howell (Financial Coach-AFSC), Joe Snowberger (Mission United), Kat Kaminski (Military Spouse Professional Network), Lynn Brannon (Fl State Coordinator Building Healthy Military Families), Will Gibson (Vets on Tap), Bruce Thompson (Vets4Vets), Bryan Burt (USO Pathfinder Program), Susan Eccher (Am Red Cross Military & International Program Manager), Emily Spencer (Director of Business Development -Pelocity) all attended the meeting.

We are always updated on new things happening in the Jacksonville community among the supporting professionals. We were introduced to the newest Pathfinder Scout and updated on the Florida Defense Alliance and all of the other supporting programs in the greater Jacksonville community.

Assessment Technologies Group (ATG) / Pelocity Meeting

On January 10, 2019 Wendy Layton met with Emily Spencer last week who is the Director of Business Development with Assessment Technologies Group (ATG) / Pelocity. They discussed ways that Pelocity could work for our veterans and military spouses that are seeking employment. This would be an excellent way to assess the skills of the candidates we are working with so that we can help to guide them and assist them to be successful and not just find them a job.
Jacksonville Military Veterans Coalition Meeting

On January 9, 2019 Wendy Layton attended the Jacksonville Military Veterans Coalition Meeting at Keiser University. This is a quarterly event that is about 2.5 hours long and hosted by Mike Fleming (ret) Florida National Guard General and attended by all of the heavy hitters in the veteran support community including senator reps and congressmen reps, Mayors office reps and many others. Usually at least 50 attendees.

The Illinois National Guard Tree Lighting

The Illinois National Guard welcomed some of its Gold Star Families to the first annual Community Tree lighting, Dec. 13, at Camp Lincoln in Springfield, Illinois.

The tree, planted on the grounds of Camp Lincoln, serves as a reminder of the legacy of the men and women of the Illinois National Guard and their connection to the communities in which they live. It also serves as a reminder of Illinois' fallen Soldiers and Airmen and the sacrifices of these service members and the Families that loved them.

NC4ME Networking Event
Jenna Weakly was able to network, and sign up new job seekers, after explaining CASY & MSCCN's program on December 11th in Jacksonville, NC.
Women in the Military: A Panel Discussion
On December 6th Crystal McFadden networked with over 75 veterans, sharing CASY's information with the group in Pittsburgh, PA.
IJF Community and Corporate Partner Veteran Showcase
On December 6th Danette Hayes attended this networking event, creating awareness of CASY & MSCCN, along with our goals for 2019 in Chicago, IL.

CASY & REBOOT Join Forces!

San Diego, CA, December 03, 2018, Corporate America Supports You (CASY) and National Veterans Transition Services, Inc (NVTSI) are joining forces through the REBOOT program in San Diego to mitigate long-term unemployment for post-military career veterans. REBOOT is a three-week workshop designed to reintegrate military personnel and veterans into civilian life, while keeping their military core values intact. CASY is one of the most efficient and effective nonprofits in the placement of veterans into meaningful employment. For more information, click here.

On November 27th Jenna Weakly, Employment Specialist, spoke with over 20 veterans and military spouses, sharing our program and career resources in Jacksonville, NC.

On November 16th Crystal McFadden attended, and shared CASY's resources with veterans present in Pittsburgh, PA.

November 13, 2018 The LOVE The Guard and Reserve Councils met in Washington DC at the Boeing Headquarters to discuss the strategy for rolling out the LOVE Program across the states and regions.

November i2® Analyst’s Notebook® Software Training

Since September, 2014, IBM, Corporate America Supports You, and Military Spouse Corporate Career Network (CASY & MSCCN) have been successfully conducting i2® Analyst’s Notebook® software training sessions, followed by a certification exam. Additionally, IBM’s Kenexa Software is being used as an assessment tool to confirm the credentials of the trainees. As a result, 90% of the trainees have attained this distinguished certification, and CASY & MSCCN is assisting the candidates with job placement.

This November class had 15 students and all passed their certification exam!
Pets For Vets: Welcoming Home
As a featured guest, Crystal McFadden shared CASY's resources with nearly 60 veterans in attendance, as well as with local community organizations also present on November 9th in Pittsburgh, PA.
Training Program for Cadets
On November 9th Danette Hayes provided training to 4 groups of Cadets, providing guidance on utilizing CASY's Challenge Gateway in Rantoul, IL.

San Diego County Veterans Forum - November 8, 2018

Dean Dauphinais, our San Diego Vets program manager, recently attended the San Diego County Veteran's Forum where veteran leaders and supporters come together to ensure the veteran community is taken care of.

At this event, Dean was awarded the 2018 Salute to Service Recognition from County Board Supervisors Chair, Bill Horn.

On November 8th Stacey Harris addressed veterans, military spouses and local job seekers, sharing CASY & MSCCN with 50 military affiliated candidates in Corpus Christi, TX.

Business Professionals Meeting: Gibsonia, PA
On October 30th over 30 professionals from local businesses were able to learn about CASY & MSCCN.
Veterans Breakfast Club: Butler, PA
On October 29th some 110 veterans attended, and were able to learn about CASY from a presentation by Crystal McFadden.
SD Military & Family Collaborative
On October 26th Dean Dauphinis represented CASY, reaching some 200 attendees and local community organizations in San Diego, CA.
Ft. Hood Military Spouse Hiring Fair
On October 25th Renetta Stratton was on site at Ft. Hood in Texas to present our programs to: active duty, veterans, Gold Star spouses and local employers and service organizations.
