The Military Spouse Pinnacle Foundation

The Military Spouse Pinnacle Foundation was the first military spouse organization
to win the Newman's Own Award in 2004.

About MSCCN's Veterans and Spouses Pinnacle Foundation
The Pinnacle Foundation is the premier liaison among the military, military families and
employers working to facilitate mutually beneficial relationships between employers
and veterans or spouses.

The Pinnacle Foundation is a recognized IRC Section 501(c)(3) organization that
builds occupational skills that are in demand by local and virtual economies. We partner
closely with the Military Spouse Corporate Career Network, our sister organization,
to provide personalized professional career development for our candidates. Together,
we provide the best possible training opportunities and career development services for
this population.

Pinnacle grew from a realization that a dedicated occupational training program was
needed to address the special circumstances of transitioning wounded veterans and
their families. Together with MSCCN, we provide occupational development and
placement services to military families across the globe.

Pinnacle provides occupational training in local, virtual and “sheltered” settings. We
use local training providers, such as community colleges, to give candidates access to
qualified virtual training, which is a vital for many veterans and spouses. We employ
wounded warriors and their spouses in a sheltered employment setting by training and
hiring them to perform case management, counseling, recruitment, labor market research,
business value studies, job analysis and job development activities for their peers and
fellow candidates.

Pinnacle concentrates on occupations that are:

  •   Portable - Accommodates military families, who incur frequent relocations

  •   Virtual - Accommodates war wounded and their caregivers, as well as other
military spouses, with transportation or child care problems

  •   Rapid Placement - Requires less than 4 years of education or training but still
      provides family-sustaining incomes

  •   Transferable - Developing a database of job seeker skills based upon employer
skill requirements, rather than stale or irrelevant job titles, job codes and resumes.

Both our candidates and employers win!

The Pinnacle Foundation uses the most effective and sophisticated technology
available to ensure that we assist the maximum number of candidates with minimum
overhead. We are a virtual company, with all of our staff working from their home
offices. We automate routine tasks to free-trained staff for personalized consultations
with our candidates.

Our software allows us to identify the transferable skills of our candidates and to
automatically match those skills with occupations requiring them, even if the job titles
are different. We make objective and documented referral suggestions to employers
using our services based upon those matches.

We also use state-of-the-art applicant tracking software to manage large caseloads
efficiently and thoroughly, and to accurately measure the effectiveness of our efforts.
Furthermore, we use advanced Labor Market Information software that ferrets out job
opportunities, estimates the training required for candidates seeking specific occupations,
identifies training providers and estimates the economic impact of successful job
placements for both individual employers and local economies.

High Tech
Along with the MSCCN, we use the best tools we can find! Among them are:

  •   Web-based Talent Gateway - Serves as our portal and applicant tracking system

As candidates post their information to this site, they become “members” of our
community. Each is personally contacted to develop the best possible career or job
development plan and each candidate's status is consistently followed.

  •   Technical Transferable Skills identification and Matching

Along with training vendor identification and identification of local demand occupations
or requisite training requirements, we provide an analysis of the localized economic
      impact of our services.

  •   Soft Skills Identification, Job Analysis and Automated Resume Matching

These tools are used to ensure long term job retention and that the greatest number
      of jobs are considered.

High Touch
A wounded warrior or military spouse contacts each candidate who reaches us through
the gateway. Candidates are helped in finding a personalized career and job development.
They are followed through their training to their job placement and beyond! We continue
to work with candidates after placement as they upgrade their skills for promotion or
transfer opportunities.

Values
     •  Mutual Success for All Candidates and Employment Partners
     •  Alliance with Reputable Employment Partners
     •  Strong National Defense through Strong Military Families

We embrace the new, virtual economy. Much of our training is done via distance and many
of our job opportunities are virtual. This is especially important for the highly mobile military
population. In the case of war-wounded veterans, virtual employment is often the only viable
option due to their medical needs and care schedules. Often, their spouses or parents are
the primary caregivers and virtual employment accommodates their needs as well.

We cultivate partnerships with responsible, reputable agencies, organizations and employers
to help secure the highest possible income for our candidates.

Transitioning, wounded vets and military spouses are never charged a fee for our services!
