MSCCN MilSpouse Job Club : Program Description
During each MilSpouse Job Club event (onsite and virtual platforms), there will be informational resources and activity sessions designed toward improving participant job readiness and search processes. Participating spouses will be able to share their experiences, seek and offer advice from other participants, and give and receive encouragement. The club will:
Offer a networking opportunity. Spouses can share contacts and job leads.
Educate participants on job search strategies. Focus weekly on different job search topics including Organization and Time Management, Resume and Cover Letters, Marketing Yourself, Job Fairs, Interviewing, Follow Up, and Comparing Offers.
Develop job buddy groups to encourage each other and share experiences.
Develop professional groups where participants can collaborate and go to professional networking meetings together so they don’t have to go alone.
Help participants with career development by introducing resources for educational opportunities, career development, work-at-home options, and informational interviews.
Introduce guest speakers to offer advice on job search, interviewing, and career development.
Work with local companies and hiring managers to give job seekers tips and to draw from the group for hiring.
Plan field trips for the job club participants.
Club “Graduates” where hired participants share their success stories.
Job swap program for participants moving to a new area.
Access to job search assistance, interactive activities, corporate networking, volunteer program, internships, virtual job shadowing, and other MSCCN programs.

STRUCTURE OF MILSPOUSE JOB CLUB

Each job club/workshop will be structured, implemented, and managed by an MSCCN Outreach Coordinator. The Outreach Coordinator will interface with the MSCCN, global military installations, individual commands on station, and military family centers to ensure a powerful forward movement of the program in the way of on-site and virtual workshops and seminars.
