One of the contributors to this excellent guide is Peter Marx, a
former Employment Readiness Program Manager, who is now retired from federal
service. He was one of the very best in the AF, and perhaps all of DoD!

All Fired Up Candle Company and Jane Wayne Gear were created by a military spouse, Roxanne Reed and both homepages state "Proudly owned and operated by active duty military spouses since 2001." MSCCN thanks Roxanne for her generous support and encourages all military spouses to review her products and her entrepreneurial advice. She is an inspiration for all of us! Are you a war wounded service member, caregiver to war wounded, or the spouse of a deployed service member? If so, you may need a humor break. The DoD, Navy, and Army Corps of Engineers have all used Kathleen Passanisi, an expert on the therapeutic value of humor and a former physical therapist, as a keynote speaker to help staff in adapting to change or reducing stress. You can sample her videos online at her website. If you have a chance at attend one of her keynote speeches, please do. If you would like a quick humor pick-me-up, view her video clips online. We especially like the following ones: Harnessing Stress Aging is a State of Mind Deb Kloeppel advises, "Dear Military Spouses - if you EVER get a chance to hear Kathleen Passanisi keynote address...DON'T miss the opportunity! She's wonderful, relevant, and absolutely motivational in a humanistic way. Best keynote speaker I've heard since Erma Bombeck!" SupportUSA.org sells wristbands and other items in support of our troops and donates money to help disabled veterans. Please review their website if you are considering purchasing items to show your support of our troops or if you need a fundraiser. The two books below are very timely resources that can help applicants understand the Hidden Job Market and how best to prepare themselves for today's job market. |
